About the venue
The West Tower is an exclusive wedding venue on the outskirts of Liverpool. Set in the Lancashire countryside, the venue resembles a private little castle rather than a country house.
Because this is an exclusive wedding venue, you will have the entire venue to yourself. You don’t have to coordinate arrival times, and you won’t run into other brides.
West Tower is a beautiful wedding venue that is open all year. Your wedding photographer will be able to capture photos that you will treasure for the rest of your life if you get married here.
So, if you’re planning an intimate summer wedding with 60 guests or a lavish winter celebration for 150, you have a lot to look forward to.

Getting to the venue
The West Tower in Aughton is situated near the market town of Ormskirk, which is just up the road from the end of the M58 and M57 motorways.
The venue provides easy access from neighbouring Liverpool, Knowsley, and Southport and makes it just a 20/30 minute drive from Wigan and St Helens.
The nearest train station is Ormskirk or Aughton, with links from Liverpool and Preston. The nearest airport is Liverpool John Lennon, which is 30 minutes away by car.

All year-round wedding venue
One of the best things about being a West Tower wedding photographer is that it’s an all-year-round wedding venue.
Getting married here, you’ll have the option of choosing between an indoor and outdoor ceremony (weather dependant). Either option provides fantastic photo opportunities.
If you to choose on getting married outside and the weather requires you to move your ceremony indoors, the helpful venue staff will be able to do exactly that.
Indoor ceremonies are held in the ballroom all year round, a large airy room which can be separated by a partition for smaller weddings.
The Ballroom is complete with a central aisle leading you through the room towards the registrar and can seat up to 145 guests, and offers PA facilities.
There’s also ample space for musicians if you would like to walk down the aisle to live music — perhaps a harpist or string quartet?
Civil ceremonies at the West Tower
While only civil ceremonies are held at the manor, there are options available to couples that would prefer a religious ceremony.
St Michael’s Church is located in Aughton, just a short distance away. Many couples choose to get married at their local church and have their reception at West Tower.
If you’re getting married at your local church, the staff will work to help coordinate your arrival times and will have drinks and canapés on hand for your welcome.
Reception
After your ceremony guests can use the outside garden and patio area. Drinks are served in the Cellar Bar whilst there is always a roaring fire in the reception and the leather lounge.
In the afternoon, The Ballroom is then transformed into your beautiful dining area for your evening reception.
With large windows boasting views over the garden and elegant, neutral décor, the Ballroom is a romantic indoor ceremony and reception option that can be adapted to suit your wedding style.
An outdoor wedding venue in Lancashire

The beautiful wooden Pagoda is open from April to September. You’ll be able to relax on the lawn of West Tower and admire all of the Lancashire greenery around you.
Pagoda is an idyllic wooden pagoda set at the side of the venue in a landscaped garden; your aisle is a perfectly positioned pathway through the lawn.
