Capturing a West Tower spring wedding in Lancashire.

I adore the West Tower, it holds a special place in my heart, so I was delighted when I got the call to be Michelle and Eric’s wedding photographer for their spring wedding at the West Tower in Ormskirk.

West Tower is an exclusive country house wedding venue set in the Lancashire countryside (which means you get the whole place to yourself,) Plus, It’s the closest wedding venue to my house. Bonus!

Having photographed many weddings at this venue, I was keen to see what magical memories Michelle and Eric’s day would bring… It did not disappoint. Here is their story.

Wes, you are simply the BEST wedding photographer.

Michelle & Eric’s spring wedding at The West Tower in Lancashire.

Hi, we are Katherine Michelle from Manchester and Eric Moyler from Liverpool. This is our West Tower spring wedding photography story.

We got married at West Tower Exclusive Wedding Venue, Aughton, Ormskirk. We fell in love with the venue as soon as we saw it in February 2020. We chose April because it is Springtime and a time for the growth of new life, colourful and the temperature warming up after the long Winter.

We met in July 2017 via a mutual friend. We moved in together in May 2019. Eric proposed to me on Christmas Day in 2019 in the presence of close family, including my Mum, who has sadly passed away since that day. She was so happy for us, as she loved Eric and knew he would look after me.

West Tower Spring Wedding Details

Eric wore a suit from Suit Direct. Black trousers, a sage green waistcoat, an ivory jacket and an ivory tie. Michelle wore Klarissa, an ivory gown from Wed2B. Shoes from Quiz. A Vintage style side tiara, Yvette from Lace and Favour.

We invited 60 wedding guests, including close family and friends for the West Tower spring wedding ceremony and Wedding Breakfast—a total of 90 for the Evening Reception.

We had Pier Fun Casino/ATH Events Ltd supply us with 2 tables, Roulette and Blackjack. We also had Mason King- Mind Reader/ Mentalist/ Corporate Entertainment. Between them, they kept the guests entertained, while Eric and I had the photographs taken for our Wedding Album.

Canapés were also circulated for the guests to enjoy.

During the Wedding Breakfast speeches, we had Good Golly Miss Molly, a Drag Queen Host – interrupt the Best Man’s speech with a performance of “It Should Have Been Me”. This went down a storm with all the guests, including Ged the Best Man.

Wedding Vendors

West Tower spring wedding vendors included: Made By Myself Studio-  Wedding stationery, designed our invitations, Welcome board, Seating Plan, Name Placements, Table names and Menus.

Lillies Florist made the beautiful Bridal Bouquet and Buttonholes. Princess4aday Venue Styling supplied beautiful chair sashes.

Dave and Deb of Vanilla Nova Cake Boutique made us a gorgeous 4-tier Wedding Cake. Each tier was a different flavour, cherry bakewell, lemon, maderia and chocolate. Evening entertainment was supplied by The DFC Experience. The DJ for the night was Steve.

We also had a magic mirror supplied by R-Cade Hire. The Brides hair was styled by Tabatha Fairclough of Beauty Junkies. Siobhan Mitchell of HD Beauty Salon and Academy did make-up.

Wedding Memories

West Tower spring wedding standout moments for the Bride and Groom were –

The presentation of personalised number plates from the Groom to the Bride. The present from Lesley, the Sister of the Groom. Binary Stars is named after Eric and Michelle.

Clive from Pembrokeshire was telling jokes during the evening. Lesley, Maria and Alicia taking hilarious pictures in the Bridal Suite. And of course, Good Golly Miss Molly was Queen of the day.

Angela, Kim, Sarah and the rest of the team at WestTower worked tirelessly to ensure that our West Tower spring wedding day went perfectly.

My sister Andrea and Phil travelled from New Zealand to be here for the day. Andrea gave me away, and we will never forget her heartfelt speech. We have to mention Lesley, and all the research, help and hard work she put in before and during the day is much appreciated. Thank you, Lesley.

Wedding Photography

Wes Simpson what can I say….

He is the most gracious person. AND a fantastic photographer.

If you need someone to photograph and document your special day. Wes is your Man. He was our first and the only choice for a photographer on this important occasion.

He knew exactly what we wanted for the wedding album and directed us professionally, making us feel calm and at ease. Wes asked us why we chose him to be our wedding photographer from our spring wedding at the West Tower, and the answer to this is easy –

“Wes, you are without a doubt SIMPLY THE BEST” Thank you for being our West Tower spring wedding photographer.

Kind Regards The New Mr & Mrs Moyler – Eric & Michelle.

I hope you enjoyed Michelle and Eric’s West Tower spring wedding as much as I enjoyed photographing their day. If you’re looking for a professional documentary-style wedding photographer who captures Memories, Not Just Photos, I would love to hear from you.
