A stylish West Tower autumn wedding
Emma and Tony’s West Tower autumn wedding in Lancashire by photographer Wes Simpson.
It was a pleasure to photograph Emma and Tony’s stylish black and white themed autumn West Tower wedding. A day filled with love and laughter, and lots of dancing!
I always enjoy photographing weddings at West Tower. It’s the closest venue to my hometown of Ormskirk, and I’m a recommended supplier with a long history with the venue.
On the day, Emma, the bride, looked stunning in her white Rosa Clara gown, whilst Tony looked cool in his bespoke tuxedo. Together the couple looked so happy and in love all day.
The ceremony was beautifully performed by Lancashire registers from Ormskirk, and the weather was on our side, so it was a lovely day for a West Tower autumn wedding…
Here is their story…
Emma & Tony’s West Tower autumn wedding
Hi, we are Emma and Tony and this is our West Tower Autumn wedding photography story. We met in school in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, and Tony eventually asked me out 15 years later.
Our West Tower autumn wedding theme was classical black and white. We had 100 people in attendance. There were four maids, two flower girls, one pageboy, and four ushers.
My stunning Rosa Clara wedding gown was purchased from the Liverpool Bridal Boutique. It was perfect and I loved every minute.
Tony wore a bespoke white and black tuxedo made in town by John e Monk. And our wedding rings were from Liverpool’s premier jeweller, Wongs.
My favourite memory from the day was entering the ballroom to walk down the Isle; I was both nervous and excited.
Tony said that his favourite memories are turning to see me walking down the Isle. Daughters Holly and April were walking down ahead of me as flower girls. It was very special.
The best part of the day was the ceremony and speeches. The photos taken during the speeches are perfect and trigger so many memories.

We booked Wes twice to be our West Tower wedding photographer!
Wes Simpson was highly recommended as our West Tower wedding photographer for our first wedding date. So many people we know raved about his work.
Our original wedding was rescheduled due to covid, luckily Wes was available and very accommodating.
He did not disappoint. From our first meeting, we felt at ease with him and confident in his ability to capture our wedding day in the natural photography style we desired.
We could see from his website that he had photographed many weddings at West Tower. But it was his natural style of wedding photography that really caught our attention.
Upon looking at his work, we liked the emotion in his pictures and we loved the idea of not having to pose.
On the day, Wes was fantastic; he just blended in with the guests and was extremely professional. And we couldn’t be happier with our wedding album.
We would gladly recommend Wes Simpson to couples looking for a West Tower wedding photographer and to anyone looking for a documentary-style wedding photographer.
Wedding photos in Autumn at West Tower
My favourite photos are of us outside the West Tower. Our photographer, Wes, simply suggested that we walk around the grounds as the sunset. It was gorgeous.
We were gone for less than 20 minutes, so our guests didn’t even notice. The day can fly by at times, so having some alone time as Man and Wife was extremely valuable.
Autumn is a lovely time of year to get married. Our West Tower Autumn wedding photos look so colourful and natural.
Planning a West Tower Autumn wedding
We really enjoyed planning our West Tower autumn wedding in Lancashire. Some of our wedding vendors include:
Nanny Tap looked after all the kids and kept them entertained all day and night. Highly recommend their services if you’re having kids at your wedding.
I do Events Liverpool, for styling and decor and The Country Florist Skelmersdale for beautiful flowers.
Charlotte Marie make-up, N.V. Hair and beauty Skelmersdale and of course our talented Wes Tower wedding photographer Wes Simpson Weddings.
Planning advice for a West Tower Autumn wedding? Give yourself at least two years. And milk it to death with Bridal brunches, and hen doo planning drinks at every opportunity.
More importantly. Don’t sweat the small stuff. When it’s done, it’s done. Enjoy the entire experience.
Good luck, Emma and Tony.
West Tower wedding venue
Autumn is a beautiful time of year to get married in the UK and it’s easy to see why Emma and Tony chose to have a picturesque West Tower autumn wedding in Lancashire.
West Tower is a beautiful venue for a wedding. The staff is attentive and the food is amazing. The venue offers a luxury blank canvas, beautiful grounds, and stunning views.
I was recommended to the couple via word of mouth. They were looking for a professional photographer and wanted natural and creative photos to complement their day.
The West Tower’s owners have put a lot of work into the venue, and it shows! Bridal preparations were carried out on-site in the new Crystal suite, giving Emma and the girls a stress-free morning.
The ceremony and wedding breakfast were both laid-back affairs, with celebrations taking place in the West Tower ballroom, which is set against the backdrop of the Lancashire countryside.
What I love about the West Tower ballroom, is that it’s a blank canvas. The room has large windows that let in lots of natural light. Perfect for candid photos!
