As a multi-award winning UK and destination wedding photographer from Liverpool, I have been lucky enough to have photographed weddings at leading venues throughout England and Europe, however, it is always a pleasure to photograph weddings in my home town.

1. The Titanic Hotel Liverpool

The 4* Titanic Hotel is one of the best luxury hotels and wedding venues in Liverpool. Stylish, chic, rustic and very spacious are just some of the words I’d use to describe this beautiful old dock warehouse wedding venue.

The Titanic Hotel Liverpool, situated on Stanley Docks World Heritage site is one of the cities most historic and iconic places to say ‘I Do’ in Liverpool.

Once a busy warehouse the Titanic Hotel is now full of character and features a trendy Bar & Grill, Rum Bar, an amazing spa and the choice of three event spaces including Rum Warehouse and Bay West.

The Titanic Hotel has got to be one of the largest wedding venues in Liverpool! The Old Rum Warehouse is a generous open space accommodating up to 500 guests for a seated wedding breakfast.

Bay West which is the venues newest separate event space can accommodate 180. Both make for fantastic wedding venues in Liverpool with stunning waterfront views and plenty of interesting backdrops for your wedding photography.

2. 30 James Street Hotel Liverpool – Home of the Titanic

Not to be confused with the Titanic Hotel above, 30 James Street is a Liverpool wedding venue, hotel, bar, restaurant and spa, inspired by RMS Titanic. Formally, the home of the White Star Lines headquarters and known locally as the ‘streaky bacon building’ due to its unique appearance.

This opulent Titanic-themed hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the centre of Liverpool and the famous Pier Head. Both of which make this an interesting wedding venue for adventurous couples who want to incorporate some street style photography into their wedding photos, taking advantage of nearby landmarks.

Voted number one hotel in the Uk by Travel Republic, 30 James Street wedding venue offers the White Star Grand Hall which has been fully restored to offer all the opulence and style that was so synonymous with the headquarters. Weddings at 30 James Street can accommodate 40-130 day guests and max 200 evenings guest on weekdays.

3. Hope Street Hotel

Next up on our top 10 wedding venues in Liverpool is the chic and stylish Hope Street Hotel. This contemporary 4* boutique hotel is situated in Liverpool’s Georgen neighbourhood, opposite the Philharmonic Hall and just 10 minutes walk from the heart of the city. Hope Street Hotel offers views of the city from its rooftop balcony bar and the hotel is styled with hardwood floors, high beams and contemporary furniture.

Hope Street Hotel award-winning restaurant The London Carriage Works caters for all of their wedding parties whether it be a ‘big one’ (up to 120 guests) or a more intimate one (just the two of you).

4. The Venue at the Royal Liver Building

Arguably the most famous buildings in Liverpool, the first-floor event space at The Venue at the Royal Liver Building offers the ultimate flexibility when looking at wedding venues in Liverpool, with a range of contemporary gallery-style rooms of varying sizes.

The Venue at the Royal Liver Building is an extraordinary 200 person capacity wedding venue in Liverpool offering picturesque panoramic views of the River Mersey and a prime location on Liverpool’s world-famous waterfront.

The venue is an impressive setting perfectly suited to hosting spectacular weddings and events, the contemporary white interior offers a blank canvas space that easily transforms into your vision.

5. Sefton Park Palm House

The dome-shaped Victorian Palm House is a stunning 3 tiered, Grade II listed glasshouse in the heart of Sefton Park in the South of the city. Winners of ‘Hitched’ Best City Wedding Venue in Liverpool 2018, Sefton Park Palm House is a unique wedding venue that accommodates up to 220 guests for a sit-down wedding dinner.

6. Isla Gladstone

The Isla Gladstone is one of the most iconic wedding venues in Liverpool, a glass structure showcasing Victorian architecture and set in the grounds of Stanley Park. The Isla Gladstone Conservatory can hold your civil wedding or partnership ceremony all year round.

The venue offers the beautiful Bandstand, set within the gardens and available for up to 240 guests, makes for a perfect outside wedding ceremony venue in the city of Liverpool or the Conservatory can seat up to 156 guests for your reception and party.

7. The Shankly Hotel

One of the newest wedding venues in Liverpool is dedicated to legendary football manager Bill Shankly, this elegant, city-centre hotel showcasing sports memorabilia is one of the newest wedding venues in Liverpool.

The wedding venue which is located within The Shankly Hotel is called The Garden of Eden and it’s a fantastic rooftop wedding venue. Boasting unrestricted views across the city of Liverpool, this venue offers the most stunning backdrop to your big day.

The Shankly rooftop wedding venue accommodates a minimum of 80- guests in the day and 120 guests in the evening. Housed in a glass box, wedding guests have unrestricted views of Liverpool’s most iconic landmarks, including the Three Graces, Pier Head and, of course, the Liver Building.

The Garden of Eden is located on the top floor of the stunning Shankly Hotel and consists of a beautiful 360-degree glass exterior, outdoor terrace area and two private bars for the ultimate wedding venue.

WEDDING VENUES NEAR LIVERPOOL

8. The West Tower – Aughton, Lancashire

Just up the road from Liverpool is the multi-award winning wedding venue The West Tower, a Lancashire country house wedding venue set in 16 acres of landscaped gardens.

This 18th-century manor hotel is just a 20-minute drive from the city of Liverpool, 3.7 miles from switch island and the M58 motorway… which practically makes it a wedding venue in Liverpool ;-)

The West Tower wedding venue offers a Ballroom setting for indoor ceremonies and between April and September, The West Tower offers the Pagoda for couples who would like to get married in the great outdoors. Both spaces can seat 140 guests.

One of the main attractions for wedding photographers photographing weddings at The West Tower is the stunning Lancashire sunset and picturesque views of the countryside which make for beautiful sunset portraits on your wedding day, a must if you’re getting married at The West Tower.

9. Meols Hall Southport

Not many wedding venues in Liverpool equal the charm of the Tithe Barn, Southport’s historic Manor House situated in the grounds of Meols Hall, Churchtown. The rustic Tithe Barn seats up to 120 guests and is an all-year-round wedding venue.

The venue also offers the option of marquee weddings on the lawns to cater for larger events. The Court Yard and landscaped gardens at Meols Hall look beautiful in all seasons and make for fantastic wedding photo opportunities.

10. Knowsley Hall

One of the grandest wedding venues in the Liverpool area is Knowsley Hall, a luxury stately home wedding venue in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley. Set within 2,500 acres of private walled estate, Knowsley Hall has welcomed royalty and distinguished visitors since it originally opened its doors in 1495.

Wedding guests drive through the grand main gates, down the imposing driveway to be greeted at the front of the Hall. Wedding couples can exchange vows in the majestic splendour of the enchanting Stucco Ballroom, which has a capacity of up to 132 guests.

The venue exudes romance with its encrusted gold leaf craftsmanship and original fireplaces. Knowsley Hall is a wedding photographer dream venue and offers amazing locations and wow factor backdrops for your wedding photos.

No guide to the best wedding venues in Liverpool and surrounding areas would be complete without popping over the water to the Wirral and up the road to neighbouring Cheshire. So with this in mind, we’re adding an extra three wedding venues to our list of the best wedding venues in Liverpool and surrounding areas.

Thorton Manor

First, on the list of best wedding venues in Liverpool – surrounding areas is Thornton Manor, which is a large luxury house wedding venue in the village of Thornton Hough, Wirral, Merseyside, England, a designated Grade II* listed building renowned for exclusive wedding and events.

Thornton Manor – boasting four exclusive venues on one estate can cater for weddings up to 2000 guests. The venues include The Manor House, The Lakeside Marquee, The Waterside Pavillion and The Walled Garden Marquee.

Soughton Hall

Soughton Hall North Wales is the Exclusive Wedding venue Nr Chester, a stunning grade ll listed building and boutique hotel. This stunning Georgian country house is approached down a sweeping driveway and surrounded by landscaped gardens.

Places of interest at Soughton Hall include The Main Dining Room, The Drawing Room, South Parlour, The Secret Garden and The Marquee which is accessed directly from the house and accommodates up to 200 guests.

Peckforton Castle

If you’re looking luxurious, memorable fairytale castle wedding venues in Liverpool surrounding areas, then Peckforton Castle in Cheshire might be the venue for you. This venue has all you need to make your dream of a castle wedding a reality.

Peckforton Castle boasts red sandstone walls, roaring open fires and stunning grounds for your wedding photos. The venue offers five licensed rooms to choose from and caters for weddings from 1- to 160 guests.
