How It Works

Your Wedding / My Approach

Your Stress-free Wedding Photographer

Capturing the details you’ll never want to forget about your wedding day.

The bottom line is this: Most people want beautiful photos without spending hours posing for them. That’s where I come in – your stress-free wedding photographer.

It’s a collaboration! I don’t come to your wedding with preconceived ideas about how it should be or how it should look because then it wouldn’t be your wedding story.

With hundreds of weddings under my belt, I bring a wealth of knowledge to your special day. I know all about timings, helping camera-shy feel at ease, and blending into your wedding without being a pain in the arse.

From your planning meeting to delivering your pictures, I’m here to help. Book a call, and let’s create memories you’ll be proud of while ensuring a fantastic and relaxed wedding experience.

Finally, a photographer who gets you.

I photograph all the hugs, smiles, and tears. I’ll show you things you didn’t know happened.

My style is perfect for couples who want magazine-worthy images without sacrificing the intimate, heartfelt moments that define the story of your wedding day.

I’m a down-to-earth guy, a big kid at heart. My relaxed style of documentary wedding photography ensures your day is captured as it happens. I won’t photograph some fake, posed, unrealistic version of who you are. Anyone can do that.

While most photographers can produce nice portraits of you, I aspire to offer more. I want to create a space for you to be yourself, with open hearts, letting go of the pressures of how it should be. Let’s create something beautiful and unique that captures this milestone in your life, no matter how big or small.

Incredible images

Passionate, Professional and Friendly.

My Signature

Finding the right photographer is hard. Working with me is easy.

It’s important you feel comfortable, heard, at ease and trust me with your photos.

First, book a call, check my availability and reserve your date. I’ll explain my process and we can gain an understanding of your photography desires and arrange your planning meeting.

On the wedding day, stories are everywhere – hidden in a smile, tears of joy and emotion, a warm hug and words you might forget. My goal is to document your celebration through storytelling images – with passion, professionalism and good humour.

Simplicity is key; don’t be afraid to fall madly in love and enjoy every second. When you’re living in the moment and being your true self, that’s when the most timeless images can be captured.

There will be moments throughout your wedding, such as your couple portraits, when I will be more involved. But there will also be times when I disappear into the crowd. This is so you can relax into your day and create memories with family and friends. And because I know where to be and when I will capture those memories for you.

The Process

What’s the plan?

The process starts with understanding what’s right for you and your wedding. Book a call, and let’s get to know each other better. I will explain my process and we will discuss your wedding plans and any hopes or fears you have about wedding photography.

I shoot a limited number of weddings per year. Popular dates fill up fast. Especially summer, Christmas and destination weddings.

Once your booking is confirmed via booking deposit, you will receive a planning guide and welcome pack to help you get the most out of your wedding photography experience.

The week before the wedding, we will have a FaceTime meeting. This is when the balance is due. We will go over the finer details, shot list and any requirements to meet the desired outcome and to ensure an enjoyable and successful experience.

Wedding day

Morning Preparations

Preparations are often overlooked, but the transition from Miss to Mrs, single to married… is priceless.

We begin photographing the preparations a couple of hours before the ceremony, documenting the natural build-up to your big day, together with all the essential accessories, details and make-up shots.

Your wedding is a “collaboration.” I don’t impose rigid rules or preconceived ideas about how it should be because, ultimately it’s your unique celebration.

Once you’re ready, we can capture some simple portraits that showcase you at your finest, followed by (time permitting and at your request) the exhilaration of a bridal reveal. Not to be missed. We will discuss this in more detail the logistics during your planning meeting.

Say “i-do” to great photos

In my usual approach, I document the arrivals and the ceremony naturally and unobtrusively, capturing all the pivotal moments and genuine reactions as they unfold.

My style is free of gimmicks, trends, or intrusive lighting. It’s all about capturing real stories, emotions, and timeless moments of happiness that will never date.

and group shots

Understandably, some couples may desire formal photographs and group shots. If so, we can schedule them after the ceremony, typically taking no more than 20 minutes. We will discuss this at your planning meeting.

Your wedding day will unfold in a way that is uniquely yours. If your photographer is preoccupied with too many formal group shots throughout the afternoon, special natural moments may be overlooked.

Additionally, extensive formal photography can lead to tired feet and forced smiles, potentially causing you to miss those candid, genuine moments.

Keep it real. Keep it simple.

All you need is love

My approach to wedding photography is primarily documentary, capturing you at your best and in the moments that define your day. This means I don’t pose or direct anything other than your portraits.

I recommend scheduling two 20-minute portrait sessions: one before the wedding breakfast and another later in the day. These sessions offer quality time together and produce two distinct sets of images without being a lengthy photo shoot.

It’s worth noting that the more time and effort you invest, the greater the rewards. My couples often describe these images as “Works of Art” and proudly display them on their walls.

Let’s capture your venue and location with images that uniquely showcase the personalities of both of you. How do you want to show up for these pictures? With something fun, creative or romantic. What about a sunset walk or maybe a stroll around town? The choice is yours. The possibilities are endless.

The power of words

I naturally capture the speeches as they happen, focusing on real, storytelling moments of laughter and emotion.

You might one day forget what was said, but with the help of my images, you will never forget how you felt.

dance like nobody is watching

Typically, I stay until the evening reception. This can include the first dance and the cutting of the cake. Depending on the time of year and location, we can include a sunset portrait.

For a smooth running of the day, we will go over the finer details during your planning meeting and discuss any additional coverage as required.

All photography coverage is bespoke and tailored to you and your wedding. Contact me for more information.

I’m in Ormskirk, Lancashire. Just outside of Liverpool, not far from Manchester and close to the M6 motorway. Easy access to transport and airport links for weddings throughout the UK and destination weddings abroad.

Yes, I studied photography both at University gaining a BA Hons degree. I am also a BBC-trained cameraman and I’ve been professionally photographing weddings for almost two decades winning multiple awards along the way. But, that’s not why you should book me. It’s just added security.

Standard coverage is 10 hours, but it all depends on your requirements. But don’t worry, we will go over the timings during your planning meeting the week of the wedding and I send you a planning guide upon booking me to photograph your wedding.

I am a documentary-style wedding photographer, my aim is to produce images that will trigger memories, and emotions and increase emotional value. That means I don’t pose ANYTHING at weddings (other than the portraits.) Obviously, I will direct and encourage you when needed. But, it’s all very relaxed and natural.

It’s a good idea to book your wedding photographer 9 to 24 months in advance, especially if you’re planning a popular date or destination wedding. Many professional photographers like myself may book up even earlier. It’s advisable to book the best photographers 18 months in advance with a deposit to secure your date.

Availability is key! To check I’m available for your special day, please reach out to me with your wedding date, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. If I’m already booked for your date, we can recommend other talented photographers in our network who might be available to capture your wedding.
