SANDHOLE OAK BARN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY CHESHIRE
Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Photography
If you like rustic barn themed weddings, you’ll love Jane and Tony’s Sandhole Oak Barn wedding photography story.
A beautiful Cheshire wedding featuring rustic decor, Modeca bridal gown, live music and stunning lakeside views.
Photographing Jane and Tony’s Sandhole Oak Barn wedding was a unique experience for me, as it was the middle wedding of two brothers and sister from the same family who’s a wedding I’d be photographing.
I’ve known Jane for quite some time. She was a guest at my first ever wedding at Langdale Chace in the Lake District. I photographed her brother’s wedding (Paul and Louise) four years ago at Briars Hall in which Jane was a bridesmaid. I’m also photographing Jane’s other brother, Micheal’s wedding in Ibiza next year.
The newlyweds wanted relaxed but creative documentary wedding photography and chose Wes Simpson Weddings because that is exactly my speciality.
By choosing me as their Sandhole Oak Barn wedding photographer, the couple wasn’t away from family and friends for too long. Nothing was staged or over posed and every photo is a true insight into their wedding and a timeless reminder of the best day of their life.
Here is their story…
Rustic wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn
Jane and Tony are originally from Skelmersdale, Lancashire and Ellesmere Port. They met through a friend and got married at Sandhole Oak Barn, Congleton in Cheshire.
The couple chose this exclusive wedding venue as they wanted a rustic barn style wedding and Sandhole came up first on a Google search within the local area. It was also the first venue the couple viewed and instantly knew it was the one for them.
Jane wore a beautiful Modeca wedding gown which was purchased from Clare Suzanne bridal. She looked stunning in her Ivory low cut back dress which was complimented with cap sleeves, sparkling tulle and lace appliqués down to the train.
Tony wore grey Paul Smith suit, pink tie and brown Barker brogues. The bridesmaids wore matching complimentary dresses with pink and cream roses.
Sandhole Oak Barn wedding ceremony
The couple planned a romantic rustic themed wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn with pinks and creams, hessian and wooden decor. They kept it personal and intermit with around 60 guests in the day and approx 100 in total for the evening.
The afternoon wedding took place inside Sandhole Oak Barn with the couple facing panoramic views of the lake as they said ‘I do.” The ceremony was short and sweet with personal touches coming from a reading by a friend a fantastic soul choir before, during and after the ceremony.
Surrounded by acres of countryside and a stunning lake, Sandhole Oak Barn made for the perfect backdrop for Jane and Tony’s rustic themed wedding photographs. The staff were really helpful and the food was amazing.
The couple said that their biggest tip for anyone planning a wedding would be to use a spreadsheet and have deadlines! Use something like Trello to keep you on track. Enjoy the process but don’t get stressed out with the planning!
Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Breakfast
If you get married at Sandhole Oak Barn, your guests won’t have to travel from one location to another. The ceremony, wedding breakfast, and reception can all take place under one roof in a beautiful Chesire countryside location.
Jane and Tony’s speeches took place at the beginning of the wedding breakfast. This not only gets them “out of the way” but the beautifully decorated tables look better in the pictures.
Tony shared a few heartwarming stories before the mood was lightened with the best man taking the ‘mick’ out of the groom, complete with massive novelty cards as props which showcased embarrassing photos of childhood haircuts. Both speeches were upstaged when Jane’s nephew bravely said a few words.
The food at Sandhole Oak Barn is always amazing, which is to be expected from one of the best wedding barn venues in the country. The couple treated guests to 3-course meal, a selection of individual cake’s (Jane and Tony’s favourites) and a magnificent cheese board during the evening reception.
Beautiful lakeside sunset, live music and a party
Just before the night time guests arrived; Jane and Tony wanted to take advantage of a stunning sunset which was just disappearing behind the trees at Sandhole Oak Barn. The couple wanted to remember the day exactly how it was through their photo’s. So we headed outside for some relaxed portraits of just the two of them.
The couple later commented that the evening sunset portraits was one of their favourite parts of the day. Not only did they get some stunning pictures of just the two of them, but it provided just enough time for them to stop and reflect before then day ran away from them.
For the evening reception, the couple had a photo-booth and a live band for the party. The band played the couple’s favourite song during the first dance and Tony (who is an accomplished guitar player) got in on the action and performed a personal routine with his one of his best friends.
