“Wes, why is there so much emotion in your work?”

Because I’m a sucker for sentimentality…

I seek out the LOVE, adventure and connection I felt as a child, as an adult. It’s made me an empath. So, on your wedding day, if you’re running, I’m running with you. If you’re crying, I’m crying too. That’s my pay-off! To be in these moments that fill us up. No matter how big or small.

What’s your style?

Inspired by cinema and art, my photographs are warm and vibrant (think Van Gogh sunflowers), mixed with timeless black and white to emulate a classic film look. Think 1950s Grace Kelly wedding, and behind-the-scenes photos of celebrities like Marilyn Monroe, Cindy Crawford and The Beatles.

I try to make my pictures a first-person experience. I love any interaction that helps the viewer feel the energy of that moment – like they are inside that experience. I love pictures where you can hear the music and feel the emotions… ultimately, photos of people whose eyes are alive and images that capture euphoric moments of pure gratitude.
