As a wedding photographer based in Liverpool, it was my pleasure to document the magical story between Rebecca and Paul at their recent Hope Street Hotel Liverpool twilight winter wedding.
Hope Street Hotel Liverpool is a favourite wedding venue of mine, and it was lovely in the winter, with Christmas decorations and heritage architecture nestled between two city cathedrals.
During the wedding, we nipped across the road to the Liverpool Philharmonic for some impromptu creative photos which saw me photographing the couple from the rooftop of the Hope Street Hotel.
It made for some amazing photographs that added to all the love, laughter, tears, joys and emotions that were captured during this incredible twilight wedding in Liverpool.
Here is their story…
Winter wedding at Hope Street Hotel
Hi, we are Rebecca Simms and Paul Jones. And this is our Hope Street Hotel Liverpool twilight winter wedding photography story.
Rebecca was never a gym bunny but decided to hire a personal trainer. Six and a bit years later, Rebecca doesn’t have a personal trainer but does have a husband.
The proposal took place in Dubai as the sun went down on our hotel balcony. The father of the groom had spoiled the element of surprise a few weeks earlier, but it was still really special!
We returned home and soon started planning our Hope Street Hotel Liverpool wedding.
Wedding planning
We wanted a small intimate winter wedding with only the people who meant the most to us there. Once we had decided on Hope Street Hotel Liverpool, a twilight wedding seemed perfect.
Having our Hope Street hotel twilight wedding at Christmas time meant we could incorporate seasonal touches and colours to make it more special and unique.
Wedding theme and style
Our idea was to have a classy candle-lit Hope Street hotel Liverpool twilight wedding. We wanted to incorporate the colours and tones of the Christmas season in the decoration.
With this in mind, we added some Christmassy touches such as homemade baubles as wedding favours and prioritised a burgundy and gold colour scheme.
Rebecca’s dress was a beautiful Martina Liana Essence dress from Natalie Ann Brides in Liverpool. Paul’s suit – Charles Tyrwhitt navy 3-piece suit with a burgundy bowtie.
Intermit Christmas wedding
The reputation and stunning views across the city played a big part in choosing to have a Liverpool Hope Street Hotel twilight wedding.
Additionally, the venue was able to cater perfectly to our small and intermit wedding party size. We had 34 guests, one bridesmaid and one best man.
As a bride, one of the most important decisions you’ll make is deciding on your wedding venue. But all brides have different ideas of what they deem to be perfect.
That’s why I was so excited to discover Hope Street Hotel Liverpool, as this beautiful and unique space provides something special for each type of bride.
With its stunning location between two cathedrals, remarkable history, and warm hospitality throughout – Hope Street Hotel Liverpool truly offers an unforgettable experience.
Wedding photography at Liverpool Philharmonic
A standout moment from our wedding was standing in front of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic with our photographer Wes taking photos from the Hope Street hotel rooftop.
We had to explain to the exiting Philharmonic guests that we were indeed a bride and groom and not part of the show. It thankfully did provide some excellent and very memorable photographs!
Paul’s wedding highlight was seeing his future wife in her dress for the first time walking down the aisle. Rebecca’s highlight was being introduced as Mr and Mrs Jones for the first time.
Hope Street Hotel wedding photography
As a bride-to-be, there is nothing more exciting than planning the wedding of your dreams. Each task can bring a jolt of joy and anticipation.
However, one detail that many brides overlook in all of their excitement is selecting a quality wedding photographer to capture their special day.
In planning for our Hope Street Hotel Liverpool wedding, we researched local photographers in the Liverpool area before Wes Simpson was recommended to us.
Wes had photographed a family friend’s wedding Jenna & Micheal at 30 James Street, another popular Liverpool wedding venue.
He came highly recommended, and we loved his style and approach to photography on his website. We felt that his signature images offered something truly unique.
If you get married at the Hope Street Hotel Liverpool, you can be certain that you will take extraordinary photographs on your wedding day.
If you choose to have your day documented by a talented photographer like Wes Simpson, who has years of experience shooting events like weddings, you will have an unforgettable experience.
We would decently recommend Wes Simpson as your Hope Street Hotel Liverpool wedding photographer.
Thanks again,
Rebecca and Paul
