Emergency lockdown wedding St Georges Hall Liverpool
Wedding photography from Yannick and Glwadys emergency Covid lockdown wedding.
On Thursday before the UK went into lockdown 2, I got a call from a distressed groom called Yannick; he was calling to check my availability for an emergency Covid lockdown wedding on Monday morning at 9-am in Liverpool.
Due to lockdown, the couple had brought their December wedding forward to 9.30 am on Monday morning and struggled to find a photographer within their timeframe and limited budget.
Yannick stated that he understood that it was short notice, but was there any possibility that I was available for an emergency Covid lockdown wedding at St Georges Hall in Liverpool.
In addition to the late availability request, Yannick asked for a considerable discount due to the short notice and stated that he would be grateful for just an hour or two of lockdown wedding photography.
He continued that they would love to document the ceremony with some photos and if possible, have some additional pictures taken at St George’s Hall when newly married as man and wife.
After chatting with Yannick I could hear how important the pictures meant to the couple, so I agreed to attend their wedding and supply a few hours of photography at a discounted rate.
Times are hard right now for everyone. And when I was on route to the wedding I remembered a quote by Tony Robbins which reads –
“The secret to living is giving. No matter how busy or broke you may be, you have something to offer others.”
The couple thought they were getting a discount for my wedding photography. But after filming the below thank you video, I surprised the couple and provided my services and photography for free!

The wedding took place at one of St George’s Hall designated Liverpool registry offices. The couple was accompanied by Yannick’s sister and brother in law who acted as witnesses. The ceremony was conducted by an official celebrant and overseen by a Merseyside registrar.
The couple said “I Do” shielded by a piece of perspex glass between the celebrant and themselves with their witnesses keeping socially distant and wearing PPE during the ceremony.
The Liverpool based couple who are both originally from Cameroon looked very festive in the autumn sunshine. The bride wore a fitted red dress and Yannick the groom wore a checked blue tweed suit with matching red bow tie to complement his brides dress.
Once the couple was married, we made our way outside for some photos. The front of St Georges Hall with Corinthian columns and wide picturesque steps made for the perfect backdrop to the couples wedding photography.
The pictures where made extra special when the couple were joined by their baby daughter and Yannick’s nephew for some family portraits.
Liverpool Register Office is based at St George’s Hall.
