WINTER WEDDING AT EAVES HALL
A beautiful Eaves Hall winter wedding for Hong Kong couple Lisa and Dom who came back to the UK to celebrate their dream of a Lancashire country house wedding with family and friends during the festive season.
Here is their story…
ABOUT THE COUPLE
Lisa is originally from Burnley in Lancashire and Dom is from Fleet in Hampshire. They live in Hong Kong with their two kids Lewis and Lucy. They met when Lisa advertised for a flatmate and when Dom went to view the room, you could say it was love at first pint…
For the engagement, Dom organised a surprise picnic at the top of Victoria Peak which is the highest hill on Hong Kong island. The location offered incredible panoramic views, it was a perfect setting to celebrate Lisa’s birthday and for Dom to pop the question.
Their Son Lewis asked mummy “If she would like us to all have the same surname,” then Dom proposed and of course she said yes.
EAVES HALL CLITHEROE
The couple were married at the magnificent Eaves Hall, Clitheroe. They found the venue online after searching for wedding venues in the Lancashire countryside from their home in Hong Kong. They chose Eaves Hall as it seemed like a great venue for a Christmas wedding and it would offer a relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful setting.

WEDDING DETAILS
Lisa and Dom’s Eaves Hall wedding was a relaxed semi tradition wedding for 120 guests. Lisa loved the table plan design as it brought some of their HK cultures into the wedding theme. Hair, makeup and a beautiful wedding cake were all done by friends which made it extra special and personal.
Lisa’s wedding dress was Romantica from Wedding Belles in Blackburn. She had the neckline slightly modified and states – it’s the best dress she’s ever owned and that it was the perfect choice for a Christmas wedding at Eaves Hall.
The bridesmaids were dressed in mauve/lavender long flowing dresses. The groom wore a tailored suit made by William Cheng and Son in Hong Kong and the rest of the guys were in Slate Grey suits with matching tweed waistcoats.
WEDDING HIGHLIGHTS
The highlight of the day for Lisa was the ceremony, which took place in the main room at Eaves Hall. This opulent themed room provided a warm backdrop for a Christmas wedding. It was a fun, well-conducted ceremony that brought everyone together knowing they were going to have a great time. It set the atmosphere for the rest of the day.
For Dom, it was seeing Lisa looking beautiful walking down the aisle in her Romantica wedding dress. It’s a moment that will stay with him forever.
EAVES HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
When asked about their Eaves Hall wedding photography, Dom says –
“I love that they are not the usual wedding photos you see all the time and that they capture moments that even though we were there we missed on the day. I’m not a big fan of having my photo taken but Wes made the whole process simple and painless so I would absolutely recommend him. That and he’s a good lad as well.”
The grand pavilion and elegant terrace at Eaves Hall offer lots of opportunities for candid pictures outside. The venue itself is a fantastic backdrop for those ‘wow’ shots and there is also plenty of photographic opportunities once you step inside. The snug, bar area and snooker room are always popular locations for pictures with the boys.
Lisa says – “Every time I go through our beautiful wedding album I relive the event as the expert wedding photography brings it all to life. I love the documentary style and Wes managed to capture priceless moments and real expressions that trigger so many memories every time I look at them.”
“On the morning of the wedding, he photographed the girls and me getting ready in the luxury lodge at Eaves Hall – he was quick to build rapport and put everyone at ease. Most of the time I didn’t realise he was there!”

Dom: “My favourite picture is the photo of us walking out of the main entrance at Eaves Hall, we are just holding hands and laughing, it’s just a perfect moment and simply captures how happy we are.”
Lisa – “I love my Eaves Hall wedding photos, especially the ones during our vows with our son Lewis looking up, the black and white photo of myself, my dad and the bridesmaid coming down the Eaves Hall staircase on the way to the ceremony. But I guess my favourite picture is the one of Dom and I laughing as we are walking out of the venue, that picture is priceless.”
