UK BASED CYPRUS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Cyprus wedding photographer based in the UK. Wes Simpson is an award-winning English destination wedding photographer who travels out to Cyprus for your wedding Paphos, Protaras, Aya Nappa and more…

Are you planning a destination wedding in Cyprus? Cyrpus is a beautiful location that is perfect for weddings. With that said, you may not want to use a local photographer for your wedding abroad. Instead, you should hire the UK based Cyprus wedding photographer that can travel with you.

Hi! I’m Wes and I photograph weddings in Cyprus! I believe wedding photography is exciting and one of the most important parts of wedding planning, after all, the photos are all you have left once the celebrations are over.

Hiring a photographer you trust and whose style of photography you love is even more important when planning a destination wedding then getting married at home. Family and friends invest in a holiday to be apart of your day and everyone back home will want to share in the excitement of your wedding through your pictures.

I invite you to check out the Cyprus wedding photographer information below, my destination wedding page, and have a look around my site. You will find lots of useful information and examples of work. If there’s anything else, just ask.

Highly regarded as the number 1 Cyprus wedding photographer in the UK. I travel out to Cyprus for your wedding, this means you deal exclusively with me before, during and after the wedding.

Therefore you can trust that the style of photography you see in my portfolio and in the latest weddings on the blog is exactly that type of professional photography you will receive.

The Best Choice For A Destination Wedding Photographer In Cyprus

As a leading Cyprus wedding photographer based in the UK, you can trust that your wedding memories are in safe hands. I have photographed many weddings in Cyprus since my first ever destination wedding back in 2007 at The Grecian Park Hotel in Protaras.

Since then I have worked with many couples travelling from the UK to get married in Cyprus as well as couples based in Cyprus and the rest of the world.

Cyprus is known as the “Island of love” and it’s easy to see why. From the sandy beaches of Protaras, Aya Nappa and Nissi Beach to the romantic harbour of Paphos and ‘love’ attractions of Aphrodite. Wherever you choose to get married in Cyprus there are plenty of photo opportunities and memories to be made.

Ceremonies in Cyprus tend to be before mid-day, later in the afternoon or in the evening due to the heat. If you choose me to be your Cyprus wedding photographer, I can advise on the best time for photo-opportunities and group shots. The evening light is fantastic in Cyprus, so I defiantly recommend sunset portraits.

It’s Important To Be Able To Meet With Your Wedding Photographer

Your wedding is one of the most significant events in your life. It’s crucial that you choose a Cyprus wedding photographer that you can trust.

I am based in the North West of England. And by choosing to work with Wes Simpson Weddings, you’ll be available to meet with your photographer in person before, during and after your wedding. You can get to know me and ask questions as needed.

If you don’t get to talk to your Cyprus wedding photographer beforehand, you won’t be able to speak with them and make your needs known. You won’t be able to see if you’re comfortable with your chosen photographer, and you won’t know if you can depend on them.

Working with a UK-based photographer allows you to experience the best of all worlds. You can travel to Cyprus for your wedding and still work with a photographer that’s in your area. I’d be happy to schedule a meeting with you so that we can talk about your vision for your wedding day.

As I am based in the North West of England I can easily travel from Manchester or Liverpool airport. We can meet in-person and Skype / FaceTime before the wedding and once you’re home we can go through all the pictures and perfect your wedding album.

Why not just hire a photographer in Cyprus?

There are some fantastic Cyprus wedding photographers, but like with anything else, you should do research. There are many pitfalls for hiring a Cyprus wedding photographer based in the resort. These include –

Time allowance. Your package may seem like a cost-effective idea but it may not include things like ‘sunset portraits” which can be chargeable add-ons.

Style. Destination wedding packages often include ‘bundles.’ These are fine for things like wedding cakes and chair covers, but the relationship you have with your Cyprus wedding photographer is the most important of all your vendors, after all, the pictures are what you have left once the day is over.

Coverage. If your wedding package includes a photographer, this is often a standard package based on the number of hours or number of pictures taken. This can fall short of what you require.

Upsell. Towards the end of your holiday, the photographer will often arrange a meeting with you and your family. They will show you more pictures and products than you agreed, however, there will an incentive to “Buy More” before you leave.

The problem with this, the photographer may not have been to your style or liking and the pictures may not be the best, but they are only pictures you have. The benefits of hindsight, the amount you end up spending, you could have hired the photographer of your choosing.

Please see my Destination Wedding Photographer page for more information on the pros and cons of hiring a resort photographer.

What You See Is What You Get

If you browse my gallery, you’ll be able to see a number of images from weddings that I’ve shot in the past, including weddings in Cyprus. These photos will give you a clear idea of what you can expect if you choose to hire me to capture your wedding. You’ll find a wide range of photos captured at various locations and at different times of the day.

I go above and beyond for every client that I work with, and my goal is to ensure that the couples I’m photographing are always thrilled with the results. I am consistent in the style of photography that I use, and you won’t be hit with any surprises if you choose to hire me to work on your wedding.

Cyprus Wedding Q&A

How much does it cost to get married in Cyprus?

An average wedding for 80 guests in Cyprus costs around 12,000 euros. Marriages conducted in Cyprus are internationally accepted.

Can you legally get married in Cyprus?

And getting married in Cyprus is fairly easy and civil ceremony marriages consummated here are recognised internationally and are legally binding.

Can I bring my own photographer to photograph my wedding in Cyprus?

Yes! Of course. I’ve photographed close to 50 weddings in Cyprus and I’d be delighted to be your Cyprus wedding photographer. Your Cyprus wedding planner might try and insist you use their local guy, but stand your ground, because after all, once the suntan fades, your wedding pictures are all you have left.

Is a wedding in Cyprus legal in the UK?

It is straightforward for British and Irish citizens to get married in Cyprus, and the marriage is completely legal in the UK and Ireland. There is no need to pre-register the marriage. There are, however, a number of criteria that by Cyprus Law you must meet before the marriage can take place.

Where is the best place for UK couples to get married in Cyprus?

The most popular places for couples travelling from the UK to marry in Cyprus are Paphos, Ayia Napa and Protaras. The two main airports are Paphos International Airport and Larnaca International Airport.

What do you need to get married in Cyprus?

A valid passport with a minimum validity of six months.
A photocopy (or two just to be safe) of the photo page of your and your fiance’s passport.
A photocopy (or two) of the photo page of each of your two witnesses.
Your birth certificate. – Taken from Travel-Wise.

I Travel To Any Cyprus Location

There are a number of locations in Cyprus that are ideal for weddings. Paphos is a particularly popular location, as is Protaras. Nissi Beach is a lovely spot for waterside weddings, and Ayia Nappa and Larnaca are also wedding hotspots.

No matter where you choose to hold your wedding, as your personal Cyprus wedding photographer I’ll be able to travel to the desired location.

The wedding photographer that you work with doesn’t have to be dictated by where you’re choosing to get married. You can get all of the benefits of working with a photographer that’s based in the UK while still having your wedding in the location of your dreams.

While there are local photographers you can work with while you’re in Cyprus, you’ll be better served if you work with someone that is local to you and has a style of photography you love and trust.

I’m a UK-based Cyprus wedding photographer that has travelled to Cyprus to capture many weddings in the past, and I’d be thrilled to do the same for your special day.
