I was delighted when Steph asked me to be their Corinthia London wedding photographer. I adore photographing weddings in the city and this venue has been on my bucket list for some time.
Steph and Sam appreciate photography, and another photographer referred them to me. The couple wanted natural documentary images to tell the story of their Corinthia London wedding.
Corinthia London is one of the best luxury hotels in central London. This elegant establishment is a stone’s throw from the city’s finest attractions and is a popular spot for celebrity faces and the wealthy.
I travelled from Liverpool and meet with Steph for a quick planning meeting on the eve of the wedding. This gave me an excuse to indulge in the famous afternoon tea at the Corinthia Hotel!

The Corinthia Hotel in central London is one of the city’s finest hotels. The venue is ideal for an elegant city wedding. It has seven penthouses as well as two world-class restaurants.
The Ballroom is a magnificent setting for a wedding breakfast. And for couples looking for iconic photos, it doesn’t get much better than this for a London wedding venue.
Corinthia London is located right next to the River Thames, which makes for an iconic backdrop to your wedding photography.
The world-class spa and pool provide the ideal pre-and post-wedding relaxation. And with 294 bedrooms, your family and friends can stay and party at the Corinthia London until the morning!
Courtroom ceremony and Ballroom reception
Steph and Sam’s wedding photography began with bridal preparations in a beautiful Corinthia London Hotel suite. Steph was the epitome of a relaxed bride, even using her ‘Calm app.’
The couple married in The Corinthia London Courtroom, with some group shots before heading to the Penthouse for pictures and then outside for a quick portrait session.
The wedding reception started a little later in the Corinthia London Ballroom with speeches and a party that was photographed beautifully against a colourful ballroom backdrop.

Love at Corinthia London. Steph and Sam’s story
Hi, we are Stephanie and Sam and this is our Corinthia London Hotel wedding photography story.
Sam is originally from Tottenham, but he moved to Bath when he was a child. He works at PMI as the Global Head of Citizen Developer… yep, I have no idea what that is either!
I’m from London and work in marketing and events.
We met in 2015 at the ExCel Centre. I was working the event and Sam was a spectator. I asked for his business card as a ruse to obtain his phone number. And the rest is history!
The Shard proposal London
Sam’s friend in marketing emailed me and asked if Sam and I would be interested in participating in Valentine’s Day photoshoot; at The Shard, London in December.
We arrived at the Shard in London, and the guy behind the desk greeted us and showed us to our suite, saying the photographer would be there any minute…
As you do, I went to the bathroom to see what freebies the Shangri-la hotel had to offer…
When I came out, there were rose petals all over the floor, and Sam proposed as the sun was setting in the distance over the London skyline.
We then went to the Shangri-la for dinner at Ting restaurant followed by drinks at bar 31, the Sky lounge.
We ended the romantic night taking in the views from across London from the 52nd floor of Gong. It was perfect.
Sam, being Sam, planned an entire weekend of treats and surprises for me, it was incredible! I have no idea how he did it.
Double wedding at Corinthia Hotel London
We had planned to marry on Easter Weekend 2020, but that was cancelled three weeks before due to a lockdown…
However, we were able to get married in a small ceremony in the Corinthia Courtroom with only 12 guests in December 2020, and we moved the big ceremony and party to August 2021.
We ended up with four different dates as a result of covid because we had to postpone due to different lockdowns and tiers!
We chose the Corinthia hotel London because we wanted a London venue with easy access, and we loved the attention to detail and, strangely, the smell of the hotel! It has a wonderful aroma.
Corinthia London Wedding Theme
Our Corinthia London wedding theme was simple, classy and elegant with lots of flowers. It was very romantic.
We had to cut down our numbers even in August as we didn’t want to risk it. 50 in the day and another 30-40 in the evening. We had four bridesmaids and one best man.
Wedding Dress
I had two stunning gowns. A breathtaking LiRi Nicola gown for the day (from Confetti and Lace) and a sophisticated Morilee Rachel dress for the evening from Bromley Brides – they were incredible!
Sam had seen my Morilee Rachel dress at our first ceremony and he had no idea that I’d got a second dress. I’d kept it a secret.
But, the way Wes, our photographer captured Sam’s expression as I entered the Corinthia Courtroom wearing my LiRi Nicola gown, is priceless. I will never forget the look on his face.
My wedding gown was stunning. The dramatic train, the straight cut along the top, and the way the fabric folded over onto itself were all very appealing to me.
Also, I adored the back and neckline of my Morilee Rachel dress – the evening gown!

Bridal Party
I ordered six dresses, and my bridesmaids all came over to try them on. Subsequently, I asked them to go into different rooms and to come down in the dress they felt most comfortable in…
They all appeared in the same dress, so it was a simple decision!
I loved their outfits as much as my own. I found their dresses before mine, so I knew which necklines to avoid because I didn’t want to match.
