Briars Hall Summer Wedding Photography. Lisa & Sam
Briars Hall summer wedding
The Briars Hall summer wedding photography story of Lisa and Sam in Lancashire.
Briars Hall is a beautiful summer wedding venue in Lancashire, and I was so excited to capture these special moments for my clients Lisa and Sam.
The couple married on a typical British summer day at St Aidan’s Church in Billinge, followed by a fun Briars Hall summer wedding reception in Burscough, Lancashire.
Lisa and Sam’s Briars Hall summer wedding was traditional, laid-back, and personal. From decorating the venue to stopping at Parbold Hill for ice cream (the location of their first date).
They had their wedding, their way. And I can’t wait to share these sneak-peek preview photos with you!
Briars Hall wedding photography
One of the most important days of your life is your wedding day. You want everything to be perfect, including your wedding photographs.
Briars Hall is a lovely wedding venue, and your photographer should be able to capture that. But, with so many photographers to choose from, how do you know which one is the best fit for you?
Lisa and Sam had a clear vision for their Briars Hall summer wedding photography, but more importantly, they knew exactly what they didn’t want.
The couple contacted me after receiving a recommendation from Jayne and Lee, whose wedding I photographed several years ago at Holland Hall Hotel.
Like most couples, they did not want to spend the day posing for photos and were drawn to the idea of natural documentary-style wedding photography. And that’s exactly my speciality.
Lisa and Sam’s story
Lisa is from Skelmersdale, Lancashire, and Sam is from Billinge, Wigan.
They met on a dating App in 2015 and have been together for 7 years. Sam proposed whilst on holiday in Munich, Germany.
The couple chose a traditional wedding, with the ceremony held at the groom’s family church, St Aidan’s in Billinge and the reception at Briars Hall wedding venue in Burscough, Lancashire.
They had 73 guests, with three bridesmaids and one best man. Lisa wore a white bridal dress, and Sam looked dapper in a brown tweed suit. Bridesmaids wore matching burgundy dresses.
Transportation was provided by Magnolia wedding cars. Flowers by Blossom’s house of flowers in Skelmersdale, and they had singing waiters for surprise entertainment during the reception.
The couple remarked that they loved every moment of their Briars Hall summer wedding but wished they had spent more time with each of their guests as the day went by far too fast.
Wedding planning advice
Lisa commented: “Briars Hall is the perfect location for a summer wedding. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff is attentive and professional.”
“I had a Briars Hall summer wedding and it was perfect. I would highly recommend Briars Hall to any bride looking for a beautiful and unique setting for her wedding.”
The couple also suggested making the morning of your wedding as relaxed as possible. Save money by doing what you can yourself, like the flowers, seating plan, welcome sign etc.
They also suggested – scheduling some downtime into your day. Make time for your guests as well as each other. And plan the day so that nothing is rushed.
Special moments
Some of my favourite images from Lisa and Sam’s Briars Hall summer wedding were captured en route. We stopped at Parbold Hill, a local scenic spot where they had their first date.
The couple got ice cream, and we acted out a photo Sam had on his phone from their first date at the same location. That was a very special moment.
