Whats your names and where do you come from?
We are Jodie and Spencer Evans form Chester.
Where did you meet?
Jodie: Honeys nightclub – he made the first move 😉
Daniel: She followed me around all night ha
Jodie: Nothing happened that night but we swapped numbers and then I went back to Uni, he text to ask if he could take me on a proper first date.
Daniel: I think she text me asking if I would be her boyfriend for Christmas !!
You got married at Soughton Hall, a wedding venue in Cheshire. What attracted you to this venue?
Jodie: As soon as we came up the driveway to Soughton Hall we fell in love. The venue has so much character and beautiful surroundings and the fact it was solely for us and our guests made it that much more special. We are both foodies and the menu suited our tastes. When we walked into the marquee with the chequered dancefloor and twinkly lights we knew it was the one.
Daniel: It was a fusion of modern and traditional. Jodie wanted the traditional wedding with the horse and carriage, 5-course meal, band etc and it catered for all that. Jane the wedding planner was amazing at helping us pull it all together. We viewed about 5 venues altogether. But this was the one for us.
Where was your wedding dress from and what make/style was it?
Jodie: It was from Brides of Chester and it was designed by Justin Alexander. It was lace, sweetheart neckline with fishtail cathedral train and i had buttons all way down the back. We stayed up until about 3am with guests the night of the wedding i just didnt want to take it off.
Daniel: Wes amazingly captured the tears starting to come down my face in the moments that I saw Jodie in her in dress. Beautiful. Magical. Special.
Any special memories from the day?
Daniel: Seeing her walk down the aisle, Ruben our little 3 year old in his suit and everyone dressed up looked amazing. Horse and carriage to our venue and our first dance. All the speeches had everyone in hysterics as my best man absolutely nailed it!
Jodie: For me, Tara who sang with the harpist in church was amazing and had everyone in tears! The food, the band were incredible and Daniel had got me a suprise saxophonist to play alongside the DJ which had everyone dancing. The fact that Wes managed to capture the whole day and the emotion of all these details was priceless.
Any tips for future brides?
Jodie: Get your make up and hair done early so you can get your dress on and have some shots done that your husband wont see until you get the album. Wes suggested this at our planning meeting and I’m so glad I did this is as it’s such a nice little surprise plus it helped relax me and made me enjoy every minute of getting ready. To help get organised don’t feel bad about giving your bridesmaids things to take care off – checking out of rooms, sorting flowers as they arrive etc. Take some time out later after your meal to have some evening shots done – it gives you that time with your new husband to take it all in and appreciate all your hard work!
Would you recommend Wes Simpson photography to your friends and family?
Both: YES! definitely!!!
Daniel: Wes captured the moments and memories of our day beyond our wildest dreams. He photographed things I didn’t even see. The pictures he took for us have true value and feelings attached to them.
Jodie: Wes Simpson’s attention to detail in taking photos is a true talent. I cried when we first saw our photos back. He is a very very clever man can’t thank him enough.
