Documentary Wedding Photography for me… well, I think it’s much more important to capture the perfect moment, than the perfect picture! So I decided to call this gallery “Expressions of love” – A collection of Documentary Wedding Photography images for the heart: – special moments captured at a selection of UK wedding venues.
My aim as a documentary wedding photographer is to capture images that will trigger memories for the Bride and Groom and evoke emotion within the viewer when presented in a beautiful storybook wedding album. At it’s core, my wedding photography is about storytelling, emotion and celebration. I love photographing the uniqueness of people – the little ‘idiosyncrasies’ that makes us individual. Weddings are perfect for this, as they are reminders to be grateful of all the beautiful people and precious memories we have in our lives.
Through my unique style of documentary wedding photography I capture the magic and wonder of human interaction, I seek out all the amazing bits that nobody scripted or expected. Starting with the bridal preparations I document the story of the day as it unfolds, all the excitement, happiness and raw emotions; from the first look of the designer wedding dress, expressions of love with family and friends to tender moments as the couple take their first steps as man and wife. Undeniably, it’s a little different to mainstream wedding photography, that’s why you don’t see traditional, posed, stiff looking pictures here, instead I invest my time seeking out images that feel real, soulful and timeless, producing authentic images, that trigger memories and have true emotional value for my clients.
