1. What’s your names, where do you come from and how did you two meet?
We are Kimberley and Duncan from Westhoughton, Bolton. We met at Leigh Rugby ground through mutual friends.
2. Where was your wedding venue and what attracted you to this location?
Our wedding venue was Augill Castle in Kirkby Stephen, Lake District. We wanted quite an intimate wedding, but still something very special and a bit unique so spent a few months searching for the perfect place until we found Augill Castle. We got married the day of The Queens jubilee and I don’t think I could have picked a better venue if I tried, union Jack’s, Pims, scones and cucumber sandwiches complimented the day and the venue perfectly.
3. Who did you wear and where was it from?
The dress was Arabella by Charlotte Balbier. Classic Brides in Bolton.
4. What was the stand out special moment from your wedding day?
After all my planning… my favorite moment on my wedding day was “Trespassing!” – un-expediently wearing wellies and climbing over a farmers fence in my designer wedding dress to get some amazing pictures at the ruins. Even though my venue was amazing and I loved spending the day with family and friends it was such fun to escape from everyone. We simply just jumped in the back of Wes’s car at sunset and headed off, I’m so grateful to have shared that little adventure with my new husband on my wedding day. Wes took an amazing picture of us at the ruin castle, which we now have in a very large frame on the wall in our home, the picture always makes a nice talking point to visitors.
5. Would you recommend Wes Simpson to friends and family?
Absolutely!! Photos are so important to make lasting memories of your big day. I was considering just getting friends and family to take pictures throughout the day and I am so relieved I decided to book Wes. Our album is amazing and captured the best bits from our special day perfectly. It’s crazy how is pictures bring back so many memories.
6. Any top tips for future brides and grooms reading this?
Yes, book Wes for your pictures and give yourself some down time throughout the day, lots of little brakes so you can stop and enjoy the moments. Plan your day and don’t wear a watch!
